Emph, the blind huntress

(NOTE: I basically copied and pasted my biography from another pack. One that didn't have quite as many restrictions xD if anything is unacceptable, please tell me so I can fix it)

TITLE • The name given to this lupa at birth, was Emph

LIFE • Roughly 2 1/2 years has she been living

GENDER • If her appearance or voice didn't give it away, Emph is a female, never been mistaken otherwise

PLACEMENT • Heliw is what Emph has decided to shoot for. She's very capable in the arts of fighting, but her hunting skills definitely outshine whatever other thing she may be good at.

PELT AND COLORATION • The smaller female bares a coat which is thicker around her neck, cheeks, underbelly, and even more, her tail. The thinner hair is seen near her paws and on her face, like usual wolves. Of course, her fur become thicker in the cooler part of the year, and thins out in the warmer times. During the winter her coat becomes so thick she gets slower movements, just a small downside from her genes. As for the texture of the pelt, each strand of hair is wirey from having both wolf and fox DNA. The fur on her tail becomes more soft, as well as much longer and fluffier, like a fox. Emph's major fur color is a tannish-brown that seems slightly orange. The tan is covered on her under-muzzle, underbelly, lower neck, toes, her ear tips, and circling her eyes with a dark brown, which will sometimes appear almost black. The hybrid received orange from her father, which is placed on the rims of her ears, lining the brown of her neck, on her hind legs as stockings, and on the back half of her tail. And from her grandmother, Emph was passed down light blue, which she bares above her nose, the front of her bottom lip, and as shorter stockings on each leg.

BUILD • Due to having half her DNA from a fox, Emph is smaller than average wolves. At often times, others will underestimate her because of her appearance. But what she hides under the thick pelt is muscle, a small but sturdy frame, and swift feet. The muscle is hardly noticeable, but is surely there, mostly on her upper legs, jaws, and lower underbelly. This ensures that hunting is her specialty, because the placements of the stronger muscles are right where they need to be for Emph to run, jump, and take down prey. Her frame is small, but is so sturdy, that at times it will become difficult for Emph to shift her weight without it being unfomfortable. The legs and feet on this half-blood are slender compared to the rest of her body, which is covered in extremely thick skin and fur. The somewhat slim legs make it easier to chase down prey or possibly retreat from an attack. Emph's build is slightly more than the average wolf, just compacted into a smaller size. In this way, she gets sometimes looked past for being too weak, when in reality, if she were normal size, would be larger than the average lupa.

EYES • The half-blood once shown pools of golden, honey-like irisis, but have since become a dull grey, the color which also fills her pupils, just lighter in shade. Blindness.

EXPRESSION • Emph has never let herself worry too much about things, but others are fooled easily by this. The look on her face shows complete worry or uneasiness all the time, whether she does it on purpose or not.

WOUNDS • The half-blood bares many small scars from hunting, or from scraping herself on sharp branches she didn't see, but her largest scar is on her upper hind leg, and slightly on her tail. Though the fur is so long in that area that the scar becomes mostly covered.

DISABILITY • Emph received her blindness when she was in a different pack. It was due to trusting the wrong wolves and stepping into the wrong conversation all at the wrong time. She basically got poisonous plants shoved into both eyes, as well as scratches through each pupil to be sure she wouldn't see again. Emph is now able to use her very keen senses to find her way around. She feels the wind for what may be around her. A cliff, a tree. Scent, sound, taste, ect, she uses like any other wolf, they're just stronger and she's more dependent on them now.

MATCH • Emph doesn't want a mate, she believes that one would mostly hold her back. There was once a time she had one, but they've since drifted apart.

PUPS • The likeliness of Emph ever willingly giving birth to pups is nearly zero. If Emph were to raise a youth, she'd rather adopt, the thought of giving birth to a pup, let alone a whole litter, is hardly intriguing to her. She wouldn't want to pass down her genes anyway. She's aware of her small size and has been rudely informed of her expression and voice, she wouldn't want the chance to burden her offspring in that way.

FAMILY • Emph's mother was Ajeela (deceased), who was purely a wolf, and who happened the misfortune of King (alive), a fox as well as Emph's father. Ajeela birthed four pups, first one male, Apache (deceased), and three females, Emph, Swea (alive), and the last was a runt who died shortly after birth. Apache had a family, and it's unknown if Swea did, or if King moved on either, so Emph may or may not have half sisters or brothers

ACQUAINTANCES • Though she's been around a while, Emph does not want any friends, because she doesn't want to lose them. Plus, someday they could hold her back from what she really wants to do, whatever that may be.

FOES • Emph can grow grudges easily, and distrust even more so. But as of now, she has no one to call her enemy.

STABILITY • Emph isn't the most stable-minded creature, though she is very capable of making good decisions. Often times, Emph will have nightmares, but they hardly scare her. After the death of her brother, she did become more prone to nightmares. Sometimes she will go on mental rampages due to not being blind her whole life. She gets frustraited that no matter how hard she tries, she won't be able to see.

PERSONALITY • Emph is quiet, to say the least. She is friendly, though the way she comes off can seem somewhat the opposite. Like most creatures, Emph becomes more comfortable the closer she get with others. With strangers, she stutters most of the time, because she isn't comfortable being around them. Strangers don't scare her, they just seem to look down on her due to her size and the sound of her voice. Emph also takes first impressions very seriously, because she doesn't believe in second chances. The first time Emph meets a wolf, she depends the rest of her relationship with them judged by the first impression.
The half-blood was much happier in the days before her eyesight was lost. She'd smile without much of reason, sometimes hop around the campgrounds, neither of which she'd ever be seen doing now. Once she lost her sight, Emph was on the verge of becoming mad, she shook every moment with anger, ears were always flat on her head, and nose continuously twitched. If a similar thing were to occur, she's likely to repeat the process. It's not as much anger problems as it is having the desire and the need to do something, but always getting denied. Very much like when Emph wants to see, she will keep remembering what it was like, keep prying to know what something looks like, until she breaks. Her breaking point is rage. Utter, total rage, which can make her mentally blind along with physically. When she crosses this point, the only way for her to calm is, surprisingly, to be talked to. When she is alone and angry, she's been known to punish herself. She will pound her paws on sharp rocks, jump off somewhat high cliffs, stay underwater until she almost passes out. She never seeks to take her life, she just believes she should be punished. So because there isn't anyone to do it, she believes taking care of it herself is the best option.
Sometimes, though, she can manage to go back to a pre-blind happiness. Not quite as intense, but if Emph's having a good week, she might get caught smiling without too much reason. This being said, she'll only really become this happy when the reason is really one to be happy about.
The first time Emph meets a wolf, she gives them a designated "picture". Only inside her own head, of course. The reason first impressions are important to Emph is because of this. She doesn't want to always see a nice wolf as gruff, same reason she doesn't want to always see a talkative wolf as shy. It would alter how she approaches the wolf and how she talks to them. So, as long as the first impression explains the wolf fine, Emph won't have much trouble with communicating with them. Other than her usual communication troubles, that is.
What surprises most others is Emph will sometimes mock the enemy or mock another wolf she doesn't like too well. It just makes her feel more comfortable with the situation because she has many things that can be made fun of (her voice, blindness, expression, size, more).

LIKES • Despite others not likely to find out what Emph enjoys, she does have some things that might make her smile. For example, this half-blood enjoys what noise comes from running water. It brings her peace and lightens her worry. The reason is likely due to the fact that if you follow the edge of water, you won't get lost, or because she'll know the weather, she'll know where a larger body of water is. Another thing Emph likes if learning the beliefs of others. It intrigues her, despite the fact that she will likely not believe it any day herself. She likes to know others have a deity they can count on, and they can make themselves feel safe within their faith. The hybrid likes, too, tall grass. When she feels like she's being watched, she can duck down. It will make her happy when others go out of their way to talk to her or do something for her, as sad as it sounds. She just has never been used to others being nice enough to ask for her opinion, or to get her food without asking. As far as food, Emph believes meerkats have a rather good taste, as well as mountain goats, and bears, if she can manage to kill one.

DISLIKES • As a cut-down list of dislikes, Emph has many small things to hate, and a few larger ones. Suffering into death is one of her larger dislikes. She isn't scared of death itself, she's simply not fond of the suffering that may be present to get there, despite being prone to slight self harm herself. And though she would want to learn the religions of the land, Emph doesn't like Valdetoch, or the "purities" that are bore from there. Usually, there wouldn't be much of a problem with the place, but they believe they're higher than the rest of Lykos, and they kill hybrids like Emph. And then, Emph has reason to hate foxes. They're a horrible species, she believes, and the half-blood wants nothing to do with them.

FORMER PACKS • Emph was born into a pack that she left too early to remember the name. Eventually Emph jumped packs, trying to find a place she'd be happy with.

DIET • Emph has no "special" diet, she'll eat what is presented until she's full, or until someone else needs to eat. The only food she doesn't like is seafood, but if she must eat it, she will.

EXECUTIONS • A long while ago, Emph murdered her brother, Apache. He tried to attack, and ended up getting get killed by his sister. It was one of the few times after her blindness that Emph cried. And this incident was followed by the female hybrid stomping her own paws into sharp rocks, causing blood and soreness, but she was able to ignore it.

SOUND • Emph's voice seems like it's always concerned, or hesitant. Worried, more like, to match her expression. It'll sometimes seem ridiculous, the way she talks. It's easy for others to think she's on the verge of tears, no matter her mood. Yet even further, she's got a noticeable rasp in her voice, making her sound like she'd just break and cry. It's definitely not a strength of hers, more like a weakness. If she is trying to sound strong and independent, she'll usually fail. This whole ordeal is the reason Emph doesn't talk much in front of wolves she doesn't know, because she'd often got made fun of for it in her past.

SAVVIES • Emph has a thing for hunting. If you gave her points for doubling as being blind, hunting is a talent of hers. She uses echolocation in a way, to find her way when the scent doesn't tell her. She also knows her location pretty dearly. She can feel the warmth of the sun to know her navigation, and keeps somewhat track of the moon's phases.

STRENGTHS • Hunting is a strength, for sure. Also her senses pay a toll into them. She can hear extremely well, smell, and feel, too. Emph also seems to have a history for winning most fights she's been put in. She's good enough to be a fighter, but her hunting skills outshine whatever potential she may have for being a warrior.

WEAKNESSES • Emph's biggest weakness is her eyesight. Being unable to see really cuts most of the things to do in half. Also, like stated above, Emph's voice is a big weakness. She's usually never taken seriously when spoken to, because others see her as a frightened pup due to her voice, just with a more adult-like tone. In the winter, it's harder for Emph to move because of the chill along with her thickening fur, so she will become slower during this time.
